I worked with Hasbro Toys UK , 3D Licensing , Marvel Comics UK , Panini Comics UK , Gemma Cards , Pedigree Books on the ACTION MAN RANGE for eight years from 1987.....creating Toy Advertising
Images , Action Man Comic Covers , Competition Pages , Poster Images , Greetings Cards , Annual Books Photography , Fifteen PhotoStory adventures and lots more along the way....
Working with Bluebird Toys of Swindon in 1990 / 1991 my photogaphy and model set designs were used in the advertising for the ZERO HOUR TOY RANGE . The work covered the Trade Catalogues
illustrations and full page advertisements in the Children's Comics . My set model work featured at the London Toy Fair with a twelve foot model display to show the full range , together with an
additional six foot model set for the Harrogate Toy Fair Exhibition .
In addition four more large model displays were built for further photography shoots over a six month's period to illustrate the product in different settings .
Toontastic Comics James Hill brought me on board to help with the launch editions of the Masters of the Universe Comic....with full support of Mattel Toys in the UK to bring my supermation style
of image making to illustrate the product range in the Comic over a six months period . With He-Man and friends I brought my photography with a mix of artwork to realize an impressive series of photo
realism for the advertising for the products.....
THE FIRST ACTION MAN PHOTOSTORY ADVENTURE.....
This appeared in the Millenium Special Edition of the Action Man Comic....
Fourteen more photostories would follow this adventure for Action Man from my studio centre in Lancashire , England .
All the concept stories were first designed by myself in a storyboard format and then my Editors at Marvel Comics UK / Panini Comics UK would create the dialogue format for the adventures ,
together with the addition of any effects artwork that was needed to finish the stories for publication .
My Editors Alan Cowsill , Rob Jones , together with manager Editor Alan O'Keefe helped me bring something very special to the Action Man Comic Summer and Winter Specials with a supermation digital
model animation style of presentation format .
During the production stages for the photostories I had the full support of Hasbro's Creative Director Edward Catchpole and his team who supplied everything needed to support me in bringing this
unique form of children's entertainment in a comic format to reality .
Here we have some very early toy pictures created in the nineteen eighties....created on a model set...studio images to form a presentation to present my work to Toy Company Executives with my
ideas and creative style for toy advertising....
